Family Practice Mentorship: Nurse Practitioner Interview

By Andrew Reid - Oct 16, 2020

Family Practice Mentorship Interview

Today, we'll be speaking with Deb White DNP.

Deb has worked as an RN for 20 years in the emergency department. She later went on to get her Masters in Education and later graduated with her doctor of nursing practice from Arizona State University.

She has now been practicing primary care for about 1.5 years. Deb joined our mentorship program earlier this year, because she "didn't want to go to her attendings with every single question".

Some worries Deb had going into practice included:

  • Missing something big
  • Ordering too much and placing a financial burden on the patient.
  • Charting correctly and effectively for practice (which is much different from school) so she isn't taking her work home
  • What's normal, abnormal, and "acceptable abnormal"
  • Working up vague complaints (fatigue, dizziness, etc)

But, after joining, we helped her with each of those things.

If you've been thinking about scheduling a call, but aren't quite sure if the program is for you, then watch this interview so you can see how we can take your practice to the next level.
